The Britpop Soundsystem is a disc-jockey collective comprising NME’s Jaimie Hodgson and Angular Records’ Joe Daniel. Born from a yearning to breathe new life into bygone party era, the duo bow at the altar of the classic Shine CD compilations, TFI Friday, Camden’s The Good Mixer and crowding round the radio awaiting Mark Goodier announcing the result of the Blur versus Oasis 95 chart battle. They’re party DJs, unearthing the your favourite mixtape markers that you forget even existed with a magic nod to fallen heroes of Nineties indie, but it doesn’t end there. BPS are all about the dancefloor and the way that indie met dance in their sacred period. So wilst the crashing chords of Elastica’s ‘Line Up’ may open one of their sets, before you know it Olive’s ‘You’re Not Alone’, or or Kylie’s ‘’Confide In Me’ will be whisking you away on a slipstream of nostalgic euphoria, seamlessly flowing into an inevitable cavalcade of Menswear’s ‘Daydreamer’, or, well, lets not give away too many secret weapons…

Having laid waste to most of the Capital’s hippest joints, the boys have been called in for tour DJ duties for everyone from Klaxons to Little Boots, with sights now set firmly onwards.

BPS are pogoing the nostalgia disco model into something genuinely forward thinking and creative, this is no ‘I Love The 90’s’. Always fun, always for the crowd, these two know how to start the dance.
